About Us
Bella Stella Community: A Different Kind of Light
Bella Stella Community was founded to serve individuals with developmental disabilities by providing compassionate, person-centered services. Our mission is to empower each person to live with dignity, independence, and connection in the communities they call home.
The vision for Bella Stella Community: Supported Living Services was born from the combined experiences of our founders, Jonathan Kiesler and George Portan—two individuals deeply committed to care, authenticity, and inclusion.
Jonathan brings a unique background in both education and ministry, having earned a Master’s in Theology while discerning religious life with the Conventual Franciscans, and a Master’s in Educational Leadership. His career led him to serve as Principal of elementary, middle, and high schools, where he developed a passion for helping all individuals grow, thrive, and be seen for their full potential.
George brings years of experience in residential care, where he focused on compliance, safety, and the consistent delivery of high-quality services. His dedication to maintaining structure and integrity in care settings ensures that Bella Stella Community clients receive the reliable support they deserve.
Together, Jonathan and George built Bella Stella Community to reflect their shared values: Dignity, Love, Family Spirit, and the belief that every person deserves to Choose a meaningful life with the right supports in place.
Mission
The mission of Bella Stella Community: Supported Living Services is to create a sustainable community of different individuals that provide love and family spirit to individuals with intellectual disabilities so as to make decisions over their own lives and participate more fully in the community
