Supported Living Services (SLS)
What Are Supported Living Services?
At Bella Stella Community, we believe everyone deserves the opportunity to live in a home of their own—with the support that reflects their goals, values, and individuality.
Supported Living Services (or SLS) are designed to help adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) live independently in homes they lease or own within their local communities. These services are person-centered and flexible, tailored through the Individual Program Plan (IPP) process and designed to evolve with each individual’s needs over time.
We currently serve individuals in California's Solano, Napa, and Sonoma Counties.

Want to live independently in their own home or apartment

The Difference between SLS and ISL
Supported Living Services (SLS) provide ongoing residential support for individuals who want to live in homes they lease or own. In contrast, Independent Living Skills (ILS) Training focuses on teaching the everyday skills needed to manage life more independently—like personal care, budgeting, and home maintenance.
While they serve different purposes, SLS and ILS often complement each other beautifully. Together, they empower individuals to take greater control of their lives, build confidence, and enjoy more freedom—with the guidance of trusted support every step of the way.
Independent Living, Your Way
Our role is to walk alongside each individual—never in front of them. With SLS, you or your loved one remains in control, making key decisions about where to live, who to live with, and how your home looks and feels.
Whether someone is just beginning to explore independent living or requires 24/7 support, we’re here for the long haul. From helping you choose furniture to coaching you through conflict with a landlord or training a personal attendant—we adjust support as needed.
Support is available as often and for as long as needed, including evening or overnight assistance. Assessment and night service rates are available and coordinated with North Bay Regional Center as part of your Individual Program Plan (IPP).
Our Commitment to You
Bella Stella Community: Supported Living Services is founded on care, respect, and the belief that independence looks different for everyone. Our team works to ensure each individual has:
-
A safe and stable home
-
Meaningful relationships and community participation
-
Opportunities to pursue their personal goals and dreams
We honor the dignity of choice—and stand ready to help every step of the way.
